Who We Are

HouTex Home Inspections is a locally owned and operated, Single Inspector Company located in the City of Humble TX, serving all of Houston and surrounding areas.
Many home inspection companies put an emphasis on quick inspections, however at HouTex, we choose to provide not only concise inspections, but also a personal and satisfactory Inspection experience. We do all the research and take the time to make our clients comfortable with their real estate decisions. If a significant contingency is found, an inspection report enables potential buyers withdraw their commitment to purchase (free of penalty) within a certain time frame.
We strive to provide clients with a stress-free inspection experience and to accommodate clients’ schedules (this is why we are open 7 days/week). We deliver completed inspection reports with digital color photographs within 24 hours of the inspection. Services

    1. STANDARD HOME INSPECTIONS

During a standard home inspection we look for any safety hazards, major defects or things that lead to major defects. We are looking for issues that hinder your ability to finance, insure or occupy the home. The inspection is limited to visual observation of apparent conditions at the time of the inspection and is not technically exhaustive.

    2. POOL AND SPA INSPECTIONS

When we inspect your pool or spa we will identify any safety issues, Inspect electrical systems, heating and filtering systems and components, examine your water chemistry, explain how pools and spas operate and give you a few common maintenance recommendations.

    3. NEW CONSTRUCTION/PHASED INSPECTIONS

We will perform a visual inspection of the construction and residence in three phases. The first two inspections will take place during the post foundation pour and pre drywall phase. You will receive a written report after each inspection. The final inspection will take place when construction is complete.

    4. THERMAL IMAGING INSPECTIONS

The images seen by the thermal image camera, can reveal problems with moisture, electrical, and HVAC systems, as well as problems with insulation, foundation, framing, plumbing, and more. Combining Infrared Thermal Inspections with traditional inspection methods, provides you with the most state of the art home inspection available.

    5. COMMERCIAL PROPERTY INSPECTIONS

We look at life spans of the five major systems: electrical, plumbing, heating and AC, roofing and structure. The commercial inspection is more on the current physical condition of major systems than the interior cosmetic issues. Commercial building inspection will provide you with the answers you need to make an informed, successful real estate decision.

    6. 1 YEAR BUILDER’S WARRANTY INSPECTIONS

The one year warranty expiration marks the final opportunity to identify, document, and inform your Builder of items that need repair or adjustment. All safety hazards, repairs, and adjustments should be professionally documented BEFORE your Builder is relieved of their responsibility under the one year warranty. HouTex can help you address your warranty issues with your builder, before your warranty expires.

    7. WATER SOFTENER INSPECTIONS

HouTex Home Inspections will perform a water hardness test to determine the level of hardness of your water. We then may be able to offer various options to maintain or increase your domestic water quality.

    8. PRIVATE WATER WELL INSPECTIONS

Routine inspection of a water well system can help ensure it is operating properly, prolong its useful life, and protect your investment. Most importantly, inspections can protect your health by discovering issues that could result in water quality problems presenting a health risk.

    9. SEPTIC SYSTEM INSPECTIONS

Septic system inspections should be performed on an annual basis to ensure proper function. The septic tank is the most expensive household fixture and its lifespan will be shortened significantly if it is not maintained. An inspection will enhance the home’s value and avoid any liability issues that might result from a malfunctioning system. It is in the interest of a prospective buyer to insist that the septic system be inspected before they purchase the home if it has not been done recently.
